Close in on the inside of one of Kaleb’s mango bowls: red-brown grain, darker streaks and a ripple of figure

Locally made Hawaiian wood pieces for sale.

Kaleb turns each piece in Kāneʻohe from an Oʻahu tree that was coming down or needed to. Each piece is one of a kind and handmade.

On the shelf.

Made in Hawaiʻi, from Oʻahu trees.

Pick up a monkeypod bowl in an island gift shop and there’s a fair chance it was made in Thailand or the Philippines. In a 2023 state study, a quarter of US shoppers said they’d bought a “Hawaiian” product that turned out to be a knock-off.

Everything here is made locally in Hawaiʻi from start to finish. The tree grew on Oʻahu and Kaleb turned and oiled it in his Kāneʻohe shop. Each piece’s page tells you which tree it was and where it came from.

How buying works.

  1. Choose a piece

Each piece has its own page with its size, its wood and the tree it came from.

  2. Add it to your bag & pay

Check out right here by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank account. Kaleb gets the order the moment you pay.

  3. Pick it up or have it shipped

Collect it in Kāneʻohe, or choose shipping in your bag. Wood going to the mainland has to pass a USDA agricultural inspection before it’s mailed. Returns within 30 days of purchase. You pay the return shipping.

Looking after a wooden bowl.

Hand wash it, dry it standing up and rub in a little food-safe oil whenever it looks dry. No dishwasher, no soaking, no microwave. That’s most of it.
