These terms cover your use of specialtreeservice808.com. Using the site means you accept them.

What this site is

It describes the work of Special Tree Service and gives you a way to get in touch. Nothing on it is a contract or a promise of availability. Pieces are one of a kind, and once one has sold it is gone. Pieces and classes are bought here, through the checkout; blanks and tree work are agreed separately, in writing or in person.

Classes

A woodturning class is paid for when you book, and Kaleb then confirms one of the dates you gave. If none of them work, what you paid comes back to you in full. Woodturning involves fast-moving machinery and sharp tools. You agree to follow Kaleb’s instructions and safety rules for the whole session, to wear the protective gear provided and to sign the class waiver (PDF) before the lathe is started. Tell Kaleb before you book about any medical condition that matters around machinery.

Buying here

The checkout is run by Stripe. The prices and the delivery you choose in your bag are what you pay, and Stripe emails your receipt. A piece is yours once it is paid for; Kaleb emails you to set a pickup time or to say it is on its way. Wood leaving Hawaiʻi passes a USDA agricultural inspection before it is mailed.

Returns

A piece can be returned within 30 days of purchase. The buyer pays the shipping to send it back; ask Kaleb for the return address first. Classes are covered above.

Pieces & blanks

Wood is a natural material. Color, figure and small movement with humidity are part of it and are not defects. Sizes given on the site are approximate.

Tree work

Tree work is arranged case by case and quoted once Special Tree Service has seen the tree. The same goes for collecting wood from a tree: Special Tree Service decides what is usable once the wood has been seen.

The work

The designs, photographs and text on this site belong to Special Tree Service or are used with permission. Please do not copy or reproduce them.

Links elsewhere

Where this site links somewhere else, Special Tree Service is not responsible for what is there.

Accuracy

The site is kept current as best we can, but nothing on it is warranted complete or error-free at any given moment.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Special Tree Service is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi.
