About this piece.
Deep, with a rim that opens outward and dark streaks running through the grain.
Milo: dark brown to nearly black with a cream edge, and in old Hawaiʻi a prized wood for food bowls because it gives food no taste. More about milo.
Like everything Kaleb sells, it came from a tree that was coming down anyway. The wood dried slowly and went back on the lathe when it was ready, and there’s only one of this one.
Buying it.
Add it to your bag and check out by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Kaleb gets the order the moment you pay and emails you, usually within a day or two.
Pick it up in Kāneʻohe by appointment, or choose shipping in your bag. Wood going to the mainland needs a USDA agricultural inspection before it’s mailed.
Within 30 days of purchase. You pay the shipping to send it back, so ask Kaleb for the address first.
Hand wash, dry it standing up and rub in a little food-safe oil when it looks dry. The full care guide.
